Building on the award-winning short film, Get Your Story Straight is an independent dramedy centered on family, secrets, forgiveness, and the complicated stories we tell ourselves and one another. Rooted in Filipino American experiences but universal in its themes, the film explores how love, dysfunction, and unexpected circumstances can force estranged family members to confront the truths they have spent years avoiding. The original short has been recognized at multiple film festivals and serves as the foundation for this expanded feature-length project.
Filming is planned to begin in October 2026.

Pitiful Souls

Originally written and directed when I was thirteen years old, Pitiful Souls (Mga Kaawa-awang Kaluluwa) is inspired by the characters of José Rizal's Noli Me Tangere. Set during the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines, the story follows Sisa and her sons, Basilio and Crispin, whose struggle for survival reveals the devastating human cost of oppression, poverty, and injustice.
Revisited decades later, the work represents both a return to my earliest voice as a storyteller and a tribute to the enduring legacy of Rizal's vision. The piece explores themes of family, sacrifice, dignity, and the resilience of the human spirit.
First conceived in my early teens and now being revisited decades later, the project reflects a lifelong commitment to storytelling rooted in history, identity, and compassion.

Combining humor with heart, the series explores themes of chosen family, self-acceptance, and the complicated ways people search for connection.

Justified True Belief is a philosophical short film that explores the invisible assumptions shaping human perception, identity, and reality. Inspired by the classic epistemological question of what it means to truly know something, the film follows characters whose deepest convictions are quietly challenged, revealing that certainty often depends less on evidence than on the stories we inherit and the beliefs we rarely examine.
Blending psychological drama with contemplative cinema, the project invites audiences to question not simply what they believe, but the hidden frameworks through which belief itself becomes possible.
